Ptosis repair
Procedure Description:
The CO2 laser is used to reattach the stretched levator muscle to its normal location. The procedure can take approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour. It is done in an outpatient setting.
Post op expectations: You may be bruised and swollen immediately following the procedure. You will use ice packs to relieve these symptoms. You will be given ointment to apply to the affected areas. Most people resume normal functions within a few days following the procedure.
Trabeculectomy
Procedure Description:
An operation to lower the eye's pressure.
What To Expect:
The procedure is done on an outpatient basis under local anesthesia. The procedure takes about 20-30 minutes.
Argon Laser Trabeculoplasty
Procedure Description:
Laser surgery to lower the eye's pressure.
What To Expect:
The procedure takes about 5min and is done on an outpatient basis.
Preprocedure:
No preparations are necessary.
Postprocedure:
No activity limitation.
Phacoemulsification with implantation intraocular lens
Procedure Description:
An advanced technique to remove a cataract, or clouded lens by making a small incision in the eye, the cataract is removed and a new lens implanted.
What To Expect:
The procedure takes 10-15 minutes. Local anesthesia includes mild intravenous sedation along with topical eyedrops or an anesthetic injection. The procedure is generally painless. No stitches are used. The procedure is done in an outpatient setting with most people resuming normal activity the very next day!
CO2 Laser skin resurfacing
Procedure Description:
Laser light penetrates to a very precise, controlled depth to remove sun-damaged, aging skin layer by layer and protect and stimulate the regeneration of deeper, healthy skin.
What To Expect:
The procedure is done under local anesthesia with minimal discomfort. Because the treatment is bloodless and does not involve chemicals that cover the skin surface, we can see exactly how much tissue to treat and remove.
Penetrating Keratoplasty
Procedure Description:
The diseased or injured cornea is carefully removed from the eye. Any necessary additional work within the eye, such as removal of a cataract, is completed. Then the clear donor cornea is sewn into place.
What To Expect:
The procedure is done on an outpatient basis. You will need to use eye drops as prescribed and see your doctor in follow up as he suggests.
Blepharoplasty
Procedure Description:
CO2 Laser used to remove excess skin and puffiness from the upper and lower eye lids. The skin around the eyes bearing fine lines and crow's feet can be resurfaced during the same procedure.
